71st CIRP General Assembly, Bilbao, Spain, 21-27 August 2022

The CIRP General Assembly is an annual event, globally recognized as a leading conference devoted to production engineering and attracting on the order of 700 leading international researchers. It is commissioned by the CIRP. The 71st General Assembly of the international academy for production engineering is organized by IdekoTeknikerMondragon Unibertsitatea and the University of Zaragoza and will take place from 21 to 27 August in Bilbao.

The conference will address many aspects of production engineering including design approaches and tools, machines, production processes, tooling, metrology and inspection equipment.

This year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation the CIRP GA 2022 will be organized in hybrid format, taking appropriate safety measures, and following all government regulations.

Apart from Tekniker, AI-PROFICIENT coordinator Benoit Iung from UL will take also part in the event as CIRP Fellow, mainly involved in Scientific Technical Committee STC O – Production Systems and Organizations. He will also attend the Collaborative Working Group (CWG) on Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing along with Aitor Arnaiz from Tekniker.  UL’s scientific team will present the accepted paper “Data augmentation-based prognostics for predictive maintenance of industrial system” based on previous research, whilst a related extension is foreseen on the basis of further results, expected to be obtained in terms of AI-PROFICIENT.
