Call for papers for ‘Engineering AI in manufacturing: Technologies, Challenges, Results and Impact’ is now on!

Get ready for an exciting event at the 18th IFAC Symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing (INCOM 2024)! AI-PROFICIENT partners Tekniker, Université de Lorraine, and Athens Technology Center are hosting the special session “Engineering AI in manufacturing. Technologies, Challenges, Results and Impact”. From August 28 to 30, 2024, join us in beautiful Vienna, Austria for this global gathering of innovative minds. We will be discussing the latest advancements in manufacturing that are shaping the future.

A few words about our Session

Our session delves into the overarching considerations across the entire life cycle of AI solutions in manufacturing. It addresses the shared challenges arising when AI is adapted for manufacturing scenarios. We encourage submissions of papers showcasing real AI implementations, their outcomes, and their impact on manufacturing and production. The focus is on elements that illuminate the challenges in applying AI and their corresponding solutions, offering valuable insights into this transformative process. Join us to explore the evolution of AI in manufacturing.

This allows manufacturers to make better decisions, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and address problems quickly.​

      How should the developers engage the operators when developing the AI service and related apps and HMIs, with the goal of simplifying the job of confirming correct chemical product bag placement before production? ​

      The developers should work closely with the operators to design the services, choose the HMIs and adapt the apps, according to the actual work context. ​
      To implement an ethical by design user centered approach, the developers should work closely with the operators who will actually use the service. They should take care to understand the specific work conditions (dust, noise, time for tasks, etc.), discuss the planned solutions with the operator users, design initial mockups and discuss these with the operator users regularly in an iterative process as they develop the service. ​
