31st BIEMH in Bilbao, Spain, 13-17 June 2022

The 31st BIEMH, International Machine-Tool Exhibition, is back, and it’s set to be the most ambitious edition ever in terms of technology, solutions, proposals for innovation and exhibition space.

BIEMH is the biggest event in north Spain and third largest industrial fair in Europe. AI-PROFICIENT partners Fundación Tekniker and Ibermática S.A. will show latest advances at their respective stands, close to AI-PROFICIENT advances such as novel voice interaction module between humans and robots, and anomaly detection modules included at the latest state of the art industrial platforms (Smart Factory Platform).

The fair also includes among others the Industrial Maintenance Innovation Conference where Fundación Tekniker is part of the organizing committee. This year the conference includes as main topics the development and use of digital twins, the inclusion of new business models, the application of 5G to maintenance, mobility as a service (MaaS), augmented human skills, self-repair and self-maintenance systems among others.

This allows manufacturers to make better decisions, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and address problems quickly.​

      How should the developers engage the operators when developing the AI service and related apps and HMIs, with the goal of simplifying the job of confirming correct chemical product bag placement before production? ​

      The developers should work closely with the operators to design the services, choose the HMIs and adapt the apps, according to the actual work context. ​
      To implement an ethical by design user centered approach, the developers should work closely with the operators who will actually use the service. They should take care to understand the specific work conditions (dust, noise, time for tasks, etc.), discuss the planned solutions with the operator users, design initial mockups and discuss these with the operator users regularly in an iterative process as they develop the service. ​
