AI-PROFICIENT at Hannover Messe 2023: Live Demo in TenForce’s Booth

We are very excited to announce that we are part of this year’s Hannover Messe 2023, the world’s most important event for industrial technology, that focuses on digitalization and sustainability (April 17th-21st, 2023). Under the lead theme “Industrial Transformation”, industry thought leaders present their technology and ideas for sustainable manufacturing and industrial automation.

Our project partner TenForce, committed to enabling sustainable manufacturing is joining this significant event. If attending visit us (Hall 15/Stand E05) for a live demonstration of our project!

A few words about AI-PROFICIENTS demo: Applying AI, IIoT, and AR technology to improve plant productivity across the entire EU manufacturing and process industry.

Within the AI-PROFICIENT project, TenForce developed a solution combining the capabilities of the operators’ production-ready module augmented with visual recognition and an AI-enabled algorithm. It works on a mobile terminal such as a tablet or wearable device that can reliably read and analyse the label and verify the combination lot number and additive name. The solution apprehends the visual information within the context of the production process. It gives immediate feedback to the outside (on the factory floor) operator in case of the wrong additive. Equipped with the mobile terminal, the operator can scan QR/bar codes or directly text labels to identify the equipment or feeder

Additionally, the operator will take a picture of the big bag or container with the additive. The operator submits this form or inspection data to the system, the system will run an OCR scan, and the AI/ML algorithm extracts the relevant data from the label. If needed, the scanned data can be further enhanced and recorded in the database.

In this way, the INEOS solution unfolds the following key innovation features: AI/ML services, Visual image recognition, Connected worker, work instructions, and Operational excellence through an AI-based data input system into the plant management system.

By using this Additive check solution, the INEOS plant can alleviate human errors by inserting the wrong parameters into the factory quality system or attaching a wrong additive bag to a wrong feeder. This type of error can cause reactor shutdown and cleaning efforts that translate from tenth to hundreds of thousands of euros of costs. The expected positive optical recognition and data search should reach at least 99% or positively matching results. The efficiency of the Feeder station operator and her communication with the Control room operator increases dramatically.
